I just describe my problem of using energyplus below: I just generated a IDF profile by openstudio sketchup plugin and then input this IDF profile into Energyplus Launch for simulation. The problem is no matter what time step I changed in the IDF editor, the simulation results are always in hourly time interval. I quite appreciate anyone who can put a light on this issue.

Hello everyone,

I just developed a primary-secondary chilled water system to provided the chilled water for multiple ZoneHVAC:FourPipeFanCoil that are served as Zone Equipmentsin thermal zones. The current configuration of the system is like the figure as below and i also attach my osm file here for you guys to download https://drive.google.com/file/d/1bjju... : image description.

My question is how to configure my system according to the following figure.

I want to use three pumps to serve the ZoneHVAC:FourPipeFanCoil that are distributed in different parts of a building. For example, the fan coils in 1st-3rd floors will be served by pump 1, and fan coils in 4th-7th floors will be served by pump 2 and fan coils in other floors will be served by pump 3. This configuration is very common in real engineering project, but i did not find a way to add a parallel branch for the fan coils and pumps. I read the Engineering Reference of Energyplus and it seems that only one splitter and mixer is allowed for the supply or demand half loop. Is anyone has an idea on how to handle this issue. Hello everyone, I am using the ZoneHVAC:IdealLoadsAirSystem to calculate the zone cooling load for sizing a cooling coil. However, i have an issue on the output value of the "Zone Ideal Loads Zone Total Cooling Energy". I ran two simulation of the Ideal Loads Air System with different ventilation rate, and the ventilation rate of the second case is double of the first one. As expected, the output value of "Zone Ideal Loads Outdoor Air Total Cooling Energy" was doubled. However, what confused me was that the output value of "Zone Ideal Loads Zone Total Cooling Energy" had also nearly doubled. The two simulation had the same settings except the ventilation rate. My understanding is only the outdoor air load will change, while the Zone Ideal Loads Zone Total Cooling Energy should be unchanged. I have read the EnergyPlus document and know the several output variables related to the Ideal Load Air System follows the relation as below: Zone Ideal Loads Supply Air Total Cooling Energy + Zone Ideal Loads Heat Recovery Total Cooling Energy = Zone Ideal Loads Zone Total Cooling Energy+ Zone Ideal Loads Outdoor Air Total Cooling Energy I do not have heat recovery setting in my simulation. i cannot understand why the value of Zone Ideal Loads Zone Total Cooling Energy will change. The buidling is of single zone with 4 meters long and 4 meters wide with the the simulation performed under Guangzhou climate. The first simulation has OA flow rate of 10 m3/s and the load results are shown below: image description The second simulation has the OA flow rate of 20 m3/s and the load results are shown below: image description Hopefully you will give me some answers, Thank you guys.

Hello everyone, I want to know if the least version of BCVTB (version 1.6) support the co-simulation with Energyplus 8.8. From the manual of BCVTB 1.6, it states that the BCVTB is tested with energuplus 8.5 or lower versions and all the examples files of BCVTB use the Energyplus 8.5 or lower versions. I have tried to upgrade one of the idf file of version 8.5 in the BCVTB example to version 8.8. After the upgrade, the co-simulation does not work. I am not sure this is due to BCVTB does not support Eplus 8.8 or somethong went wrong with my seting. Can any experienced person can confirm if BCVTB works with Energyplus 8.8? I will be grateful if someone can give me comments.

I am running the energyplus example file which is named as 'DesiccantCVRh'. I draw the system diagram in the power point as shown below. In the original model, the Outside Air Inlet Node 1 is outside air node and the temperature of the inlet air is the time varying outdoor ambient temperature based on the weather file. My question is if i want to make the temperature of Outside Air Inlet Node 1 as constant like 50 degree, 70 degree....during the whole simulation, how can i do it? What objects i need to add?
