2018-07-11 02:50:32 -0500 | marked best answer | Air Loop Heating Load is zero I'm trying to get confidence with the AirLoopHVAC system (E+ 8.8), before applying it to complex models, so I built a simple 2 zone building, with an air loop served by a boiler and chiller, to supply conditioned air to both zones. You can find the model here. The heating load (as well as the autosized values for the hot water loop) is always zero. Probably there is some mistake in the setpoint definition. I checked the InputOutput and example files to see what kind of error I'm doing, but I couldn't find it. If anyone could have a look at it, it would be very helpful. |
2018-07-02 04:52:25 -0500 | marked best answer | How to include weather related objects in my parametric E+ model? I'm building a parametric E+ simulation using jEPlus. I want to include in each idf some weather-related objects (e.g. I want to change the HVAC availability schedule, depending on which weather file is used for that simulation). Any hints for doing that? Better using EPMacro or a python code? |

2018-07-02 04:03:51 -0500 | marked best answer | Adjacent heated zones in EP The building I'm modelling in EnergyPlus is adjacent to other heated buildings. I modeled the other buildings, as adjacent thermal zones (Net part of total floor area set to No in the Zone object), conditioned by an ideal air system. When I check the results, I see the consumption of the ideal air system included in the total consumption of my building. Is there a way to exclude it from total consumption, just like I am able to exclude its area from total building area? Or, would you better recommend to model it using Other Side Coefficients as boundary conditions? Update 01/04: I still have no solution of that problem. I need to model the adjacent zones as actual zones because I have internal windows to be taken into account. However I am still not able to exclude the energy consumption of the other zones from that of my building in the final report. Any suggestion would be highly appreciated. |
