2017-04-15 08:36:18 -0500 | commented answer | Openstudio 2.1 on Linux (Ubuntu 16.04 based distros) no GUI? Thanks a lot Dan! I can confirm that the OpenstudioApp is working fine under Linux Mint 18.1 (Ubuntu 16.04 based). In my case I tend to use Windows the less possible. I use it for Sketchup modeling but then I move to Linux. It would be great to have a complete Openstudio Linux build as it used to be, with OpenStudioApp + PAT, or at least a short reference to build it from a repo. So mine is a YES! on the request. PS: Are there problems for PAT on Linux? |

2017-04-12 06:37:44 -0500 | commented question | Openstudio 2.1 on Linux (Ubuntu 16.04 based distros) no GUI? Thanks for the comment Julien. Unfortunately when you execute de .deb installer, no extra options arise. A complete check for dependencies is done and then a direct install. Maybe I'm missing something "post-install"...? |
2017-04-11 20:42:07 -0500 | asked a question | Openstudio 2.1 on Linux (Ubuntu 16.04 based distros) no GUI? I just installed Openstudio 2.1 on a 64bit Linux Mint 18.1 machine (based in Ubuntu 16.04) from the official I knew and had experienced dependencies errors with previous OpenStudio versions on this same distro and somebody wrote here that wouldn't be a problem for OS 2.1. Installation went smooth, but unfortunately I'm only able to get openstudio as a command line to execute files but not to edit them or even work with the new PAT. Am I missing something in my installation? |

2016-05-30 21:44:35 -0500 | commented answer | OS - Shading control: multiple strategies? Thank you very much David. That sounds logical to me. The only thing is that I would need to dig a bit more and start learning some ruby first. Nevertheless, there is an example in the E+ manual that could be adapted to this case under the shading section. |

2016-05-25 17:53:21 -0500 | asked a question | OS - Shading control: multiple strategies? Hi all, I'm working with OpenStudio and I know that I can add shading control strategies for windows, for example when incident radiation reaches certain value. Now, how could I combine this strategy with another one to completely close an interior blind (or blackout) during sleep hours on a bedroom (this one would work with a schedulle)? I know I can do one or the other but... how to set up both strategies for the same windows simultaneously? I already tried to drag two shading controls on the same sub-surface but the second replaces the first. Thanks for the advice! |
