Hello Everyone, I need help here pls, From my recent simulation am trying to calculate the total heat transfer through my building wall and from the results, I have problem figuring out if the sum of ''glazing'' and ''Solar Gains Exterior Windows'' gives me just that.

However, from Design builder help these information is made available

Glazing - the total heat flow to the zone from the glazing, frame and divider of exterior glazing excluding transmitted short-wave solar radiation

Solar Gains Exterior Windows - Short-wave solar radiation transmission through all external windows. For a bare window, this transmitted radiation consists of solar radiation passing through the glass and diffuse radiation from solar reflected from the outside window reveal, if present.

But there is also ''Solar Incidence'' values which am not sure how those values has been calculated.

Hi All, I don't know if its allowed to add a follow up question to another person's question so please pardon if its not allowed. However, when I check out the answer below, the shaded construction are ASHRAE 189.1.2009 ExtWindow Climate zone 1-7 but my buildings is located outside US. What can I do should I want simulate blind control.

hello Ijbrackney, I have checked through PAT and i can say i find it interesting but it appears there is no measures for shading coefficient for glazing materials. anyone with any idea on this will be greatly appreciated. Thank you all

Dear all, I have some issues modelling with OS and E+, I want to ask about how to vary shading coefficient (SC), window to wall ratio and different orientation in open studio/E+. I Know how to create a building in OS with different WWR and safe as separate files but I don't know how to do that of shading coefficient in either programme. Regarding orientation, I find the four orientation in energy plus but not in open studion (that is N,S,E,W) but I need to simulate 8 different orientation in my study (N, NE, S, SW, E, SE,W & NW)and I do not not how to go about this. Again I would like to know if there is a better way than building 7/8 different model with different WWR in OS, I guess there should be.

I read the answer given by Annie but just wondering how to do that correctly. it is by setting the heating coil efficiency to 0 or how exactly. if yes, I've tried this but still getting heating values. I'll appreciate any further insight. I am sorry, I am new to OS and e+. Thank you

Dear All, I am trying to study thermal performance of building in a tropical climate, which means the building does not require any heating system but find it hard to eliminate the heating system while defining my HVAC system in open studio. I am sorry if that question is not reasonable to many people, but this is my challenge and I will appreciate any tip or advice.

Hi, for me both sketchup and openstudio are 32bit. infact my OS is 32bit so its not possible to have 64bit installed in the first place. I would appreciate any help. Thank you
