2016-11-23 08:54:33 -0500 | answered a question | PROBLEM WITH TOLERANCE Yes I have read that in other posts. I do not know how to use the openstudio very good but I seem unable to find the building object tab in the interface. Should I access the code? And if yes how can I do that? |
2016-11-23 07:51:59 -0500 | asked a question | PROBLEM WITH TOLERANCE Greetings! I know that this question has already been posted but I was not able to fnd the answer that I wanted. I get the message that loads initialization did not converge. However I do not know how to increase the warmup days in open studio or the temperature tolerances there. Do you have any clue? Thanks |
2016-11-14 13:37:29 -0500 | asked a question | change ground temperature in openstudio I would like to change the ground temperature from 18 degrees to 12 throughout the whole year in my openstudio model .I found some previous threats related to that but all involved some script writing since the temperature was not the same throughout the year. Since my case is simpler than this, is there a way that does not involve script writing since I do not have the slightest clue on how to do it? Thank you Desperate! |
2016-10-22 09:37:28 -0500 | asked a question | How can I insert the U value and g value for windows in OpenStudio model? I am doing the modelling in openstudio and I will run the simulation in energyplus for a simple house. I am a very new user to simulation programs. I am given by the exercise ONLY the U and g value for windows as well as that they are double glazing. I create a new material for windows but I have to insert all these values regarding transmittance and reflectance which I do not have and obviously no option for the SHGC. When I only load materials from the library I see that they have in their properties the U and g values reported but I cannot modify it. Do you know any simple way to do this? Thanks! |
2016-10-04 05:00:30 -0500 | commented answer | problem with sketchup energyplus plugin Thanks Annie for the thorough answer! I would like to ask you something more...In energyplus I have to assign U values to my windows walls etc. which also consist of 3-4 different materials. When I manage to create them in IDF Editor how will sketchup recognise that my wall now will have these properties. I mean how do I assign them to the specific wall? Furthermore do you know how I put temperatures for the inside and outside? |

2016-10-03 09:57:45 -0500 | asked a question | problem with energyplus and sketchup Hello!!! I am a new user in Eenrgy plus and sketchup and I have been facing some problems. I have created a simple model in Sketch-up free version and have also installed the legacy open studio plug-in so that I can export the results to energy plus. When I open the energyplus input file nothing is assigned. To be more clear, what I have cretead in sketchup is 1. created an energyplus zone and 2. inside it I draw a simple house with 3 windows and a door. I want to assign materials to these elements but cannot find them in energyplus. do you know how I can do that? Should I download another extension of sketchup? I am rahter desperate so any help would be great |
