2016-06-17 11:13:38 -0500 | commented question | New material in OpenStudio Thanks. I figured there had to be an easier way than using a text editor. |
2016-06-17 10:48:32 -0500 | answered a question | New material in OpenStudio I have figured out A solution, but it requires a little bit of coding skill, and should be used with caution, as I'm sure there are ways to mess things up doing it this way. But if you wish to proceed at your own risk:The material libraries for the various buildings can be found at: C:\Program Files\OpenStudio 1.11.0\share\openstudio-1.11.0\OSApp If you open one of these in a text editor, you can see how things are set up. You can follow much of the same process as is shown at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DeAbTl_h8fM (make sure you turn on your closed captions so you can follow what each step is doing) Save your new, custom library with a new name (making sure not to alter the existing libraries) Then, in OpenStudio, go to File > Load Library Assuming you have done everything correctly, you should have your newly created library to choose from. I am hoping that there is a better method, using something in the OpenStudio interface, which is much more user friendly, but this one seems to work. |

2016-06-17 09:46:37 -0500 | commented question | New material in OpenStudio I think the issue here is the difference between creating a material for use in the current model, and saving it so that it can be used again in a different project without having to recreate it. I am also trying to figure out how to do that. Unfortunately, I haven't seen it in any tutorials or guides, yet. |

2016-06-16 10:09:59 -0500 | asked a question | ParametricAnalysisTool Cloud Menu options are greyed (grayed) out Upon a brand new install, and subsequent reinstallation to try to fix the problem, all features seem to be working except for the Cloud Menu (between Measures and Help menus). I can click on the Cloud menu, but the two options I see (Cloud Settings and Monitor Use) are greyed out. Version: 1.11.0 Compiler: Visual Studio 12 2013 Win64 Have I missed some step required to enable those menu options? Thanks! |
