2016-05-19 14:00:01 -0500 | commented answer | install sketchup extension on Mac OK, I figured it out. When I created an account at EnergyPlus, I must have stayed on their page and downloaded the latest version of EnergyPlus 8.5.0 - the folder that was installed in my Applications directory. In my defense, the pages look nearly identical. I got the correct install file and everything works like a charm! Like I said, I'm a total noob. Looking forward to diving in! I'm sure you'll hear from me again. Thanks, everyone, for your patience. Cheers! |
2016-05-19 11:16:08 -0500 | commented answer | install sketchup extension on Mac Hi David, thanks for checking into this. My understanding is that Sketchup2016 for the Mac only comes in the 64-bit flavor. There's only one download file available from Trimble and I do not recall an option during install for 32/64 bit. I understand that this is an option only available for Windows users. My current version of OS X is 10.10.5. Thanks for the link to the alternate thread, but that resolves the issue on a Windows machine. Again, I can manually install OpenStudio.rb - if I had a file to install. Thanks! |
2016-05-19 09:28:39 -0500 | commented question | install sketchup extension on Mac Thanks for the reply. I'm a total noob when it comes to this software, so I'm not sure who David or Dan are. Any referral is appreciated. I've checked every location possible, including the Package Contents for SU '13 and '16 with no luck. The plugin is not on my computer. Dumb question - has it been verified that it's included in the install package? i opened the package contents of the installer and couldn't find it. Dumber question - could someone just send it to me? Thanks! |
2016-05-18 15:32:04 -0500 | commented question | install sketchup extension on Mac Thanks for the quick reply! I was running SU2013, but then read the install instructions, which lead me to believe i needed SU2016 - So I installed SU2016 last night then reinstalled OpenStudio. A check of both '13 and '16 folders per your direction yielded only the standard su_* plugins (camera, sandbox, trimble connect, etc). I can't see any Open Studio plugins, I'm sorry to say. I could do a global search for the file if i knew the name. Thoughts? Thanks! |
2016-05-18 14:03:23 -0500 | asked a question | install sketchup extension on Mac i just downloaded and installed OpenStudio 1.11.0 for Mac aaaaaaand... nothing. The installer placed a folder in the //Applications directory, but i have yet to find a sketchup plugin (.rb or .rbz file) The extensions are not listed under preferences and there's nothing in the tool pallets. I'm at a loss for the next step. I can install the extension manually, but what's the file name? Thanks in advance for your suggestions. Cheers! |
