I am trying to troubleshoot a failed simulation
Hi, I am doing an energy simulation using OpenStudio. I have worked the geometry using Sketchup OpenStudio plug-in, where I created thermal zones, and added all the information related to space types. Then, I brought the osm model created in Sketchup to OpenStudio application where I try to run the simulation. However, an error occurred right after running the simulation. It says that it can’t load a file, a temp one. See below.
I tried to check the err file that is inside the run folder, but this file wasn’t there. I don’t know where to look to troubleshoot this. I appreciate any help.
A part of the error showed in the "run simulation" tab is:
[18:25:04.025972 ERROR] Found error in state 'preprocess' with message [":/ruby/2.7.0/gems/openstudio-workflow-2.3.1/lib/openstudio/workflow/util/measure.rb failed with message cannot load such file -- C:/Users/Mauricio/AppData/Local/Temp/osmodel-1705015040-7/resources/measures/OpenStudioResults/resources/Siz.Model in eval:134:in `require
I'd like to add this. After uploaded the osm model in OpenStudio and doing some changes like apply the "ideal loads" option and the thermostats schedules to every thermal zone while having also the sketchup app open, I tried to run the model but a message appeared saying that:
"Failed to save model, make sure that you don't have the location open and that you have correct write access".
Then I tried to close the sketchup application while I was working on OpenStudio and it worked because the simulation run, but when I did a change (adding a bcl measure) and I tried to rerun the simulation, the above message appeared again.
After that, I closed OpenStudio and open it again and tried to run the simulation and the first error message (about the temp file) appeared again.
What happens when you:
Hi Denis, thank you for your comment. I removed the OpenStudioResults measure as you said and it run well. Then, I tried to add another measure (adding overhangs) and run the simulation. It didn't run because the message saying that I have the location open appears again. Then I removed the measure and tried to run but it continues showing same mistake. So, for running the model, I have to restart the model and remove the measure and dont add any other measure.
You may want to look up this post. To narrow down the issue, what happens when you:
Hi Denis, I read the post and I applied the sugested solution of shorten the file name and it did work. Also, I applied other measures (the one which creates overhangs) and the simulation run well. I think the issue is solved. I appreciate your collaboration. Thank you.
Great. You should summarize your solution (1 or 2 lines) as an answer. And click on the checkmark (i.e. accept your own answer).
