BCL Authentication Key Invalid in OpenStudio 1.8.0

Hi,

I just installed OpenStudio 1.8.0 and created an account at the BCL website according to the instructions on the OpenStudio Introduction website. When I put in the Authentication Key I get an error that the key is invalid.

Anybody has any idea what might be causing a problem?

Thanks!

Jim

I assume the 2722 tag was inadvertent. I retagged. As far as the error, when you are copying your key from the BCL, make sure you don't have a trailing space in what you copy.

Assuming that is the issue, it is a duplicate of this post

Figured out the problem. I was trying to register my BCL key at work, and apparently there are restrictions from the system administrator that do not allow certain data to be transferred. Once I tried from home it worked perfectly!

I removed the closed as duplicate since issue was not trailing space. Firewall issues have happened before when trying to access BCL from within OpenStudio. While it takes some time there are things that IT department can do to resolve the issue if it is necessary to access it from within the office.

Hello David,

I am having the same issue. Unfortunately, it fails for me both at home and at the office. Can you elaborate on the corrections that my IT department may be able to do to fix the issue? Is there a URL that can be reviewed and approved for the firewall?
