Hello,

I'm working with the PNNL IECC 2018 residential prototype buildings and wondering how to handle fatal errors when updating the IDFs to more recent versions of EnergyPlus. More specifically, the slab and heated basement foundation IDFs are producing fatal errors when running the simulations in E+ version 22.2.

We need to update the E+ version because we’re using the IDFs in the OpenStudio Parametric Analysis Tool (PAT) via an EnergyPlus measure to ‘bring your own idf’ as laid out here. This workflow uses E+ version 22.2.

From these two previous unresolved posts with the same fatal errors, it appears to be an error related to the basement and ground slab preprocessors:

Ground Slab issue with PNNL/DOE residential prototypes

Failing on outside boundary condition objects

Also note that all the prototype IDFs run successfully in EnergyPlus version 22.1 with IDFs updated to version 22.1 in Windows / Parallels. Fatal errors, however, are produced in EnergyPlus version 22.2 on a Mac w/ M2 processor and in EnergyPlus version 22.2 when running PAT on an AWS instance of the OpenStudio server.

Any ideas or suggestions would be much appreciated!
