Tags: singular vs. plural?

asked 9 years ago

I've noticed that both singular and plural tags are being used and have been wondering if we should adopt one convention over the other to keep the questions consolidated and organized. Opinions on one vs. the other or doesn't matter?

Singular. Singular. Not plural.

So how do we clean them up: controls, materials, utility-rates, schedules, constructions, thermal-properties, air-handing-units, daylighting-controls, load-calculations, cooling-loads, plug-loads. And those are just on the first two pages of tags (based on popularity).

One at a time? Takes about 10 seconds per.

Or maybe @Neal Kruis can create a bot to do it automatically?

@Neal Kruis, is there a way to remove unused tags from the Tag list?

I have been looking into this for a while. Tag moderation and clean up is the highest priority on my list for Unmet Hours. I have also been thinking about making tag names much coarser. Some of the tags are so specific I have a hard time imagining them being useful to other users. I will continue to explore options and post a question to the community for feedback.
