IDF Editor Not Working

Hi all,

I am currently using Energy Plus V9-1 for my thesis project. I need V9-1 because I am using a model of a building that was developed on that version of the software and has not been updated since.

I have been using the software successfully over the past few months and up until this week everything was working perfectly.

Today I have tried to access the IDF editor and it is not working. When I open it on it's own or using EPLaunch only a white screen comes up for the logo in the task bar and no window comes up.

I have restarted the computer and used the methods in this link https://unmethours.com/question/42941.... Another link (https://unmethours.com/question/38942...) details downloading older version of EP to try and fix the problem but I am unsure if that would help considering it was working fine until today.

Does anyone have any ideas as to how I could solve this. I am a new user to this site therefore It won't allow me to upload a photo of the problem, but it is the same as to the photo shown in the first link. The problem is delaying my progress so I would appreciate any help.

(P.S I have tried the alt + tab method and the "cascade windows method" previously stated)

Thanks!

If nothing else will work you can try the Registry Editor fix. Be careful when doing this because making modifications in the Windows Registry can mess up other software if something else is modified.

Press the Window menu and start typing Registry and the Registry Editor usually comes up.

Once it starts, go to this path:

Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\VB and VBA Program Settings\IDF Editor

And delete the key group shown as "IDF Editor".

Exit the Registry Editor and try starting IDF Editor again.

Hi Jason, that appears to have done the trick.

Thanks for your help!
