Is there a way to get a professional looking report out of OpenStudio showing graphically the breakout of thermal zones and spaces so one can correlate with the spreadsheet report data?
The View Data measure that is showcased in that video you linked to is an example of a reporting measure (as opposed to an OpenStudio Measure or EnergyPlus Measure). Any reporting measure can be viewed within OpenStudio after a simulation, but it should also generate an HTML file that stores that same information you can view in OpenStudio. For the View Data measure, you want to look in the following folder: 'folder name matching your OSM name'\run\view_data or something similar. This is an interactive way to examine the geometry of the building, but it doesn't generate a floor plan for each story to lay out spaces and thermal zones.
According to this post, there may been an issue with using this measure in OpenStudio Application v1.0, so you may need to install an updated version that's not on BCL.
This post has also noted some issues with internet browsers used to view the generated HTML file.
ok. i just wish it would label the zones so i can print it to PDF, but i'll check it out, but i'm not a programmer so i don't know about "git tags" that need to be removed and all that stuff. i'm just an engineer.
You can open the output report.html of the ViewModel or ViewData measure in a web browser. If you use the controls to select Render By "Thermal Zone", Camera to "Orthographic" and "Z View" you can get a top view of the model. You can then go story by story using "Show Story" and use the browser's print command to print to pdf. You could add labels later in a pdf editor.
i would just use AutoCAD if it needs to be done manually.

Something similar to the pie chart that shows the floor area breakdown of space types? This is generated by the OpenStudio Results measure.
