Hello I'm using windows 32bit and i downloaded and installed sketchup 2015 32 bit (i have double checked to install right version). when i want to install openstudio 1.7, in last seconds a message pops up and says: "32-bit openstudio is incompatible with 64-bit Sketchup 2015. The openstudio sketchup plug-in will not be installed." i am absolutely sure that i have installed 32-bit sketchup 2015 and i have downloaded sketchup from http://www.sketchup.com and trying to install OpenStudio-1.7.0.c5bad04b2c-Windows.exe please help me Thank you

Are either or both of these paths on your computer:

C:\Program Files (x86)\SketchUp\SketchUp 2015\ C:\Program Files\SketchUp\SketchUp 2015\

If 'C:\Program Files\SketchUp\SketchUp 2015\' that means you had installed 64 bit SketchUp at some point, check that the folder is empty and delete it. Then try installing 32 bit OpenStudio again.

Thank you for the quick response. my PC is 32 bit so i dont have "Program files (x86)" folder and its just program files and i cant even install 64 bit sketchup on my system so im sure i have installed 32 bit version of sketchup 2015. i just installed sketchup 2015 64 bit and OpenStudio-1.7.0.c5-Win64.exe on my laptop (which is 64 bit) and its working perfectly. but kind of gave up on pc. I even installed 64 bit openstudio 1.7 with same sketchup (32 bit) in my 32 bit PC and the error in sketchup pops up and says openstudio 64 bit is incompatible with sketchup 32 bit !!!

Ah I see, that makes sense. What version of Windows are you using? You should be able to copy files from your OpenStudio install to your SketchUp plugin directory as noted in this post:

You will not be able to use 64 bit OpenStudio on a 32 bit machine

Thank you. im using win 7 service pack 1. I copied the sketchup plugin manually in appdata/...../sketchup/sketchup 2015/sketchup/plugins as you mentioned and now its working. Thank you so much again.

Few posts addressing similar issues:

I would try uninstalling both using Revo. I have noticed that Openstudio tends to keep older versions of itself on your machine instead of overwriting and updating.

Thank you for your quick response. i used revo and unistalled both sketchup and openstudio 1.7 but again the error pops up. for now i will continue using openstudio 1.5 and sketchup 2014 which are working with no problem. thank you again

In class, one of my students did the following and worked.

Install SketchUp Make 32 bits Instal OpenStudio 1.7 64 bits (yes, 64 bits) Instal OpenStudio 1.7 32 bits.

And this should work.
