Dear all, I have a question regarding how to generate the baseline window that required by ASHRAE90.1-2016 appendix-G.

The simple glazing method from Open Studio cannot give me a window with the U-value that in ASHRAE90.1 2016 appendix-G. I contacted the EnergyPlus help desk and have been told that it can be done by adding the frame.

Is there anyone please share a screenshot of the 2016 baseline model window's inputs (materials dataset and construction layer) for OpenStudio/EnergyPlus that you are using for climate zone 2?

The best approach is to describe the window in detail with built-up layers of materials and a frame so that they match the requirement in the standard. An alternative to that is to use WindowMaterial:SimpleGlazingSystem which uses an algorithm to create an equivalent single layer window. This algorithm is described in the engineering reference.
