Model a Passive Louvered Window Overhang in EnergyPlus

I checked and there doesn't seem to be an EnergyPlus object for this device. Unless I model each piece of louver as an individual shading device.

In EnergyPlus you would have to model each louver as an individual shading device using a Shading:Zone:Detailed object.

Would you please let me know how you modeled several pieces of louvers as an individual shading device? Thanks!

Each would be modeled using Shading:Zone:Detailed objects. I'm not sure it is worth that effort.

As an alternative approach, if you were trying to minimize runtime (and surfaces), you could pre-calculate the fraction of sun that passes through for each hour of the year, and then model in EnergyPlus as a single shading surface with a transmittance schedule assigned based on pre-calculated fractional values.
