OpenStudio Crashes while selecting plant loop

I noticed this on multiple OSM files recently that openstudio just crashes when I select to open the plant loop or condenser loop. Earlier I had to abandon and start with the new OSM file because of this issue. But even this OSM file started crashing. I am assuming it is due to some wrong entries but it could be a bug not letting fix it? I am sharing the txt version of the file for the experts to review https://paste2.org/hVMKnzFP

what version of openstudio are you using? And did you edit anything in the .osm file with a text editor before it crashed in the app?

@mdahlhausen The model is OS 2.5.0 and crashes also in OS 2.4.0

As @mdahlhausen implied and also answered here you probably edited the text of the OSM file so you ended up with pretty messed model.

After tracing down your model I ended up with this scheme:

So you have unconnected branch on the demand side of the Plant loop. To get rid of that you will need to remove the following lines:

Thanks a ton @Avi . Yes, I did edit to resolve some error warnings I was getting earlier. And the model ran completely after the fix. I assumed that was enough and OpenStudio will alert for any new issues. lol.

@Avi Did you manually locate the error while going through the file or you used some diagnostic script to locate the issues? After modifying the OSM file, I am getting these errors and the file fails to open:

*Model with Version 2.5.0 IDD is not valid to draft strictness level. The collection is INVALID at strictness level 'Draft', because of the errors: Commented Mixer 4 and Splitter 5 and so the file opened but crashed with condenser loop. Steps of how you located the error causing nodes and object will help to fix the rest.

@rkbest I did it manually though I am thinking of writing a measure to do that. Did you make sure that you added ; at the end of the mixer splitter objects? Here is a link to the corrected model though I use OS 2.4.0.

I missed the ; . Forgot all the Eplus editing rules as i havent been workinng with E+ lately. Now the model runs complete. @Avi

I think you're hitting a bug in the GridItem.cpp, I have opened a Github issue here where I also include the backtrace I got after producing a crash using a 'Debug' build of current develop (2.5.1).

@rkbest: of course that is an actual bug only and only if you didn't edit manually the .osm file. Did you?

@Julien Marrec The funny thing about that is that the model runs without any warnings regarding that plantloop. I believe that it shouldn't be to hard to check for that and eliminate that at opening time.

This is because the orphaned branches likely get "deleted" (as in not translated) during forward translation.
