When importing gbxml from IESVE to OpenStudio, is there a way to generate zones from spaces?
I have a gbxml file generated by IESVE (v2017). In this file there are a bunch of spaces, but only one thermal zone. I recognize that this is probably a flaw in the way IESVE is generating the gbxml. (I tried setting up thermal zones in IES and exporting but still only one thermal zone, containing every space in the building, is present in the gbxml.)
Is there a measure or some other way to automatically generate one thermal zone per space inside OpenStudio? I know that I could interject in the gbxml to add these, but if someone has already solved it in OpenStudio that might be less inconvenient.
Not really an answer, but I think under the dropdown HVAC Zones, I think that typically transfer over with the thermal zone information. That, or use the Title 24 Module to create the .xml which will have the defined thermal zone as you set it through the T24 Module.
