Do you know if there is any component available in the BUILDINGS library in Modelica, to operate windows (open or close) according to the outside conditions? I am looking at an exercise where I will model a house, and based on the outside condition I will operate in natural or mechanical mode. I know that this can be implemented by coupling EnergyPlus and modelica, but I am interested in using Modelica solely.

The opening/closing part can be implemented with blocks from the Modelica Standard Library. What is missing is a model that computes ventilation through an open window based on the window opening, wind speed and possibly temperature differential between room and outside. If you have such a correlation that is applicable for your building, you could implement it in a block and then prescribe this inflowing or outflowing mass flow rate between the outside and the room model.

Thank you for the very quick reply! I will try to use blocks then.
