Open Studio Result : how to understand better the results?

I'm from Europe, and I admit I'm not able to understand completely the results after a simulation in Open Studio. I've read the page "OpenStudio Results Measure" from the OpenStudio's web site already, but there are some concepts that are difficult to understand for an European, for excample: -What's the meaning of Net Site Energy? -Total Source Energy? -What's the meaning of HVAC Load Profile? Is this the energy needed for the HVAC (that I didn't set in OpenStudio) ?

Can you please send me a web site, or a pdf that explains me better all these definitions?

Total Energy Site -> is this the energy that my building has produced during the year? or is this the energy needed in the site?

Total Site Energy is the energy that is used at the building, ie, the gas and electricity that would be reported at the meter. Total Source Energy is the energy that is used to produce the energy that is used at the meter. For instance, this will include all the energy that is taken to transfer say coal to electricity and deliver it on site. Finally the HVAC load profile helps to understand the peak energy uses throughout the day so you can see what the load on your system will be at every time step. I hope this helps

ok. I suppose that Source Energy can change, depending by the location. So if I use an .epw of Toronto, or of London, or of Berlin, will the site-to-source factors change every time? are these factors saved into the .epw file? Also for european cities? I can believe that these factors are reliable for american cities, but are they also for european cities (only if these factors are saved in a .epw) ?

I am not sure what is saved in the .epw file in terms of site to source factors, I would expect the accuracy to be the same between North American files and European files though. I would always double check these anyway as this would vary year on year depending on the make up of the grid.
