Does Design Builder software import "spaceType" via gbxml?

I think the spaceType attribute of the Space element is fairly analogous to an Activity template in Design Builder. However, when I imported a gbxml created in Revit 2016, the spaceType information did not seem to carry through.I found this tutorial from Design Builder, which outlines 2 approaches: using the DB Revit plug in, or using the Revit gbxml export and then importing that file into DB. I tested the second option.

When using the first option, can Activity templates be applied based on the Space Type parameter assigned in Revit? (This parameter is exported to the spaceType attribute of the Space element in the Revit generated gbxml file.)

On page 14 of the tutorial, it shows a dialog that looks like it allows for template assignments during the import process to DB, but it looks like the templates can only be applied to the building, block, or zone, (and not to other groupings of zones such as all zones with an Office Space Type in Revit.) I was not able to get the plugin to work for me so far.

Here is the "Space Type" parameter in Revit 2016(populated from a Revit pre-defined list of values): image description

Here is the "spaceType" attribute of the "Space" element as shown in the gbxml file generated by Revit 2016: image description

Hi Molly, thanks for providing the information on the gbXML schema. Having spoken to the DB development team, their take on this when deciding on development priorities was that activity assignment is quick and easy in DesignBuilder so they considered it a lower priority than the ability to import geometry, fabric, glazing etc. As you say, the Revit "Space Type" would need to be mapped to DB templates which is not a trivial development. They do intend to implement it at a later date, but there are other higher priorities at the moment.

Dave, Thanks for your answer. The gbxml schmea does indeed include spaceType information, and this information is exported from Revit 2016. gbxml schema I am editing my original question to include images to clearly show what I am referring to. It would be helpful if DB would use this data field to assign Activity templates on import (you would need to provide a set of library templates that match the spaceType list defined in Revit.) It would also be really helpful for the documentation to state what data will be imported.
