ZoneIdealLoadsZoneTotalCoolingRate Energyplus

Hi,

In energyplus, I'm trying to understand the elements that have an impact on the results of the ZoneIdealLoadsZoneTotalCoolingRate output variable. I want to know all the corresponding output variables and to do this I don't know which variables to take into account, such as wall contributions, infiltration, etc. Would anyone be able to help me?

Thanks in advance

I recommend using the Input-Output reference, for E+ 23.2.0 is page 1309 section 1.30.1, here you can learn a lot. Also the same with the Engineering Reference, for the IdealLoads, as well as the "Componentt Loads Summary", you can also learn a lot on how it works.

Sorry, but that doesn't help and thanks for trying to help.

I'm rephrasing my question because I didn't explain it properly. I want to know the output variables used to calculate ZoneHVAC:IdealLoadsAirSystem.

Here are the output variables I'm thinking of, but I don't know if they're the right ones or if there are others :

Surface inside Face Conduction Heat Transfer Energy

Surface inside Face Convection Heat Gain Energy

Zone Total Internal Total Heating Energy

Zone Infiltration Total Heat Gain Energy

Zone Exhaust Air Heat Transfer Rate

If I add up the values of these output variables, I can't find the power needed to ZoneHVAC:IdealLoadsAirSystem.

My aim is to find all the output variables to understand how works ZoneHVAC:IdealLoadsAirSystem.

Sorry if I misunderstood the question. As you're not answering your own question here, consider editing the initial question and merging as many of these additional points.

@OlivierC37, the ZoneHVAC:IdealLoadsAirSystem object allows you to output/compare "Outdoor Air" vs "Supply Air" vs "Zone" vs "Heat Recovery" total cooling energy, so you can pinpoint when/where cooling loads are being picked up (e.g. OA vs zonal loads). The examples in the linked overview should be helpful.

This would be in addition to the standard EnergyPlus SHG summary table, e.g. annual (GJ) vs peak (W) sensible cooling breakdown (e.g. lighting/equipment vs infiltration vs opaque assemblies vs fenestrated assemblies). A starting point?

EDIT: This UMH post may be useful.

Thank you, the zone component load summary was very helpful. However, I haven't found anything about the details of the variables that are taken into account for ZoneHVAC:IdealLoadsAirSystem.

Thank you for your help
