Revision history [back]

Are you trying to change the shading sun exposure characteristics mid simulation or are you running a parametric study with static shades? If you want to set each surfaces as sun or not sun exposed, you can use the sun exposure filed for BuildingSurfaceDetailed, there is also a field for wind exposure.

Another approach is to build out Shading Surfaces offset from the building surfaces and apply a schedule to them.

Another option could be to manipulate the solar and thermal absorptance of the outside material in the exterior constructions to mimic the affect of less sun exposure, but I'm not sure that ether won't be other unforeseen consequences of this, due to light being reflected to other model surfaces.
