The surface search isn't checking for an exact mach, rather it looks for surfaces which contain the string you enter. So not only are you seeing "Surface 4" but also "Surface 40" and "Surface 400" etc. The screenshot below shows an example of this. If you can see one off by itself, it is probably "Surface 4"

If you can't find it this way, go to the inspect and find surface 4. It will identify the parent space. Enter into that space to see "Surface 4" isolated. If you can't find it in the main SketchUp window then use the inspector to find it. After selecting the space in the inspector, then go to the "Edit" menu in sketchUp and choose "Group" or "Soild Group" at the bottom and then "Edit Group". If you still see the rest of the model from inside the group click the blue wireframe cube icon on the OpenStudio toolbar to hide other spaces.
