Clarify what you mean by "place more and more electric equipment into the zone". Do you actually mean increasing your fraction lost? If that's the case, increasing your fraction lost would increase your gas consumption. By default the Fraction Lost is 0, and increasing it to .5 would indeed increase your gas consumption. The Fraction Lost is multiplied by the total energy consumed by the equipment to give the amount of heat which is 'lost' that does not impact the energy balance.
