2016-04-29 10:57:49 -0500 asked a question Requirement Checklist for Analysis and Understanding the Output of a Failure

Is there a fundamental requirement checklist for running an an analysis in Open Studio? I'm looking for something that gives you the essential inputs required to get results out of a simulation. Also, is there a way to understand the output, from a failed simulation, to figure out where the error might be?

2016-04-28 15:52:37 -0500 asked a question How do you load 'Simple Glazing System Window Materials'

I'm trying to load a window type that I can edit to have a custom VLT and SHGC. I tried changing these properties under the 'Glazing Window Materials' tab but I couldn't find those direct parameters. I then noticed that the Simple Glazing System Window Materials (SGSWM) tab these parameters can be adjusted but this SGSWM isn't preloaded into Open Studio. I looked under the online BCL and couldn't find anything there as well. Where can I find the Simple Glazing System Window Materials?

2016-04-28 13:36:11 -0500 asked a question Setting Outside Boundary Condition to Adiabatic Makes Simulation Fail

I'm trying to run a simulation with 5 of the 6 surfaces being adiabatic. When I set any of the Outside Boundary Conditions under the Spaces -- Surfaces Tabs, the simulation fails. When all of the surfaces are set to something else such as the default 'Outdoors' the simulation runs without problems. Is there a different way to set-up an adiabatic study model?

2016-04-07 23:39:16 -0500 asked a question Good Recent 2016 Tutorials for OpenStudio

Are there any good video tutorials that have come out within the last year? I'm working on the current version 1.11.0 and every video tutorial and online guide is at least 5 years old and the interface has changed quite a bit since then.

2016-04-07 23:39:16 -0500 asked a question cannot locate energy plus engine

The error message, "Cannot locate the EnergyPlus engine. Corret the EXE path and try again," came up when I tried to run a simulation in SketchUp Make 2016, Open Studio version 1.11.0. Any idea how to correct the EXE PATH? How do I go about doing this?

Thank you
