2016-04-06 08:31:57 -0500 asked a question vertical slats control

Hi all, I am working on a project with vertical turnable exterior slats for shading. The slats should be turned in dependance of the sun angle for good sum protection. I use the "vertical" for the orientation in the WindowMaterial:Blind definition.and BlockBeamSolar for schading control. Now ther are the folowing questions:

  1. Does this BlindMaterial-model also work for big slats with a slat width of 300 to 600 mm?

  2. I would like to control the turn-angle of the slats not continously, but in 3 or 4 steps a day. I Think this could be possible using a schedule for the slat angle and usig EMS to control the slat angel in dependance of the sun angle and eg. solar radiation. Is there somebody who has experience with this kind of slat control?

  3. I made some tests with constant slat angle and AlwaysOn control on a west facade. But the results showed 2 peaks in solar transmission to the zone, where I expected only 1 peak due to the fix angle. Then I looked at the slat-angle output, which was strange too, so that I had doubts about the definition of the slat-angle described in the input-output reference (probably I have a wrong understanding about that) ?

I wuold be very happy, if somebody could help me concerning these topics. All the best
