Parametric Analysis Tool v3.6.1-1, unexplained prolonged simulation times

Hello everyone,

I have been using PAT v3.6.1-1 on Windows 11 to analyze design options in different climates for several residential buildings.

Four weeks ago the simulation time for each design option was taking between 20 and 40 seconds. However, as of a couple of weeks ago the simulation time has increased to 12 minutes. This is despite the fact that I have simulated the same file. I have not found any reason why the simulation times have increased.

Attached is a screenshot of a simulation done on August 8 where the simulation times ranged from 20 and 40 seconds and another simulation done today with simulation times of 12 minutes.

It is striking to me that the file that takes 12 minutes the process (measure) of changing the weather file takes about 6 minutes. I reiterate that the simulated file is the same.

The computer configuration has been checked to rule out computer related problems. Performance problems with other programs have also been ruled out. It seems to be only PAT that is having problems.

I did the process of reinstalling PAT and it did not fix the simulation times. The file path is located in C: to rule out problems with the path.

I would appreciate any insight you can suggest to verify that the computer configuration is adequate or if there are known issues with any Windows 11 updates that may be interfering with the proper functioning of PAT. Or if any PAT files may be causing the simulation to cycle in some proces.

Thanks for your attention. I’m looking forward to your reply.
