What is the best approach to generate OpenStudio Geometry from an imported Revit file using Sketchup's Openstudio Plugin

I am very new to learning how to utilize the Sketchup Plugin for creating OpenStudio geometry. I saw that Sketchup now has the ability to import a Revit file into Sketchup. Once this is done, what is the best way to create the Spaces required for an OpenStudio Energy Model? In the OpenStudio Sketchup Plugin, I see there is a "Cover Layout" to spaces button. I think this is only for mapping out from a 2D layout. Does the 3D Revit file still need to be traced over to creat the OpenStudio Spaces? Is there a Youtube video or something to help point me in the right direction?

Thanks in advance for any help on this.
