Surfaces drawn in OS spaces still only show as Sketch-up

I'm using the OpenStudio Sketch-up plug-in (ver. 1.4 w/ Sketch-up Pro 2021). I am trying to surface match my model and have auto-intersected the geometry. I am now going back into the model to manually fix surfaces that were deleted in the process. However when I double click into the open studio spaces and redraw these surfaces the first one I do automatically becomes an open studio surface, but every subsequent one will only show up as sketch-up geometry and won't register as a surface on the inspector tool. The only work-around I've found is to re-open the file and just do surfaces one at a time, but this is ridiculously slow given that I have 40 or more surfaces to fix. I have also tried doing the surface matching measure in openstudio without using sketch-up, but it gives an error each time and won't complete. I can add some screen shots if helpful, but thought I'd just ask first in case other's have experienced and solved this previously. Thanks in advance for your time. Also this is my first post, so if there's anything I'm missing don't hesitate to let me know.
