Placing lighting sensor to outdoors for daylighting control

Hello, I am trying to simulate a vertical farm that is using a solar illuminated technology. Therefore, I need the interior lights to open when the sunlight on the roof goes below of some level. Since the area that I am using daylight control does not have windows, I need to place a sensor to the roof or I have to control the lighting according to the available sunlight outside. Does anyone know how can I do that? Thank you in advance!
