How do I avoid geometries being deleted after every save & reopening?

Every time I open my saved OpenStudio model (.osm) it will delete geometries. This differs per day, sometimes it's part of a wall, or windows. I have been reinserting the missing geometries everytime I reopen, but I will keep losing work like this. This time I saved my model twice - the first save included copying the house three times and mirroring two of them. The second save included rear windows. Then it crashed. So I reopened the first and second model, both deleting the mirrored houses and windows and doors.

The error messages are very long this time, repeating the same error message for different surfaces. The first few entries are: Error: Surface 102 This planar surface shares the same SketchUp face as Surface 105. This error cannot be automatically fixed. The surface will not be drawn. Error: Surface 16 This planar surface shares the same SketchUp face as Surface 132. This error cannot be automatically fixed. The surface will not be drawn. Error: Surface 18 This planar surface shares the same SketchUp face as Surface 117. This error cannot be automatically fixed. The surface will not be drawn.

I have been saving my OpenStudio models in the OS toolbar (not SketchUp) as per the forum's comments. I save a new model every time I make significant edits in case anything goes wrong. I've found an answer suggesting to delete the error spaces in the text data but then I'd have to redraw this anyway?

Can anyone help me save time?
