How to interpret the outputs for CondFD Phase Change State?

I am modeling PCM in building envelopes using eneryplus v9.0. I have not been able to find information related to the CondFD outputs of the MaterialProperty:PhaseChangeHysteresis object in the Input/Output Reference documents. Specifically I want to know what do the values from the CondFD Phase Change State represent. From simulation results I can see that results range from 2 to -2 depending on the PCM temperature but is there any source where I can find the meaning of these values or how are they obtained? Any help is greatly appreciated.
