Drawing interior walls

Hey all!

I'm new to OpenStudio and I come from IDA ICE. In that program, when drawing spaces/zones, you usually draw only the internal geometry of the spaces you're working with, and IDA ICE then fills in the blanks between spaces with internal walls according to the internal wall construction you assign. See the figure in the link:

The white spaces between the zones become walls, in other words.

How are internal walls regarded in SketchUp's OpenStudio plug-in?¨

Thank you :)
