Surface matching of interior partition surfaces

I have two interior zones as C:\fakepath\IZ.pngshown in the attached images. The two interior surfaces 5 and 10 are in contact, which is also . However in reality there is only one wall that separates the two zones. So is it okay if I delete the interior partition surface 5 so that interior partition surface 10 will still be able to separate interior zone 1 and interior zone 2 ?

I ask this because surface matching does not work for interior partition surface group
