Does openstudio ever fail eg. not enough hot water to meet demand?

I have a technical question about energyplus analysis in openstudio. I am modelling energy usage for a water heater system. I was curious if there is any case in which openstudio fails, that there is not enough hot water to meet the demand? If no, then what penalties are in place to prevent this from happening?
