Window open-close modeling in EnergyPlus

Hi,

I am trying to understand how you can model the windows open/close behavior in an E+ simulation model. Some studies have modeled it as increasing the design infiltration rate by multiplying it by 25, i.e., 5 air changes/hour (http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S037877881530267X).

Suppose If I want to manually check in the .idf file about how this can be modeled, what is the best way? Which schedule value I can change? I am seeing one INFIL_QUARTER_ON_SCH with values up to 1. Is that something I will have to change? In that case, how I can change the design infiltration rate?

Also when the windows are assumed as open, the HVAC schedule also to be turned off right?

Can someone throw some light on this,

Thanks in advance. Albert.

In the model, I am seeing one INFIL_QUARTER_ON_SCH with values up to 1. Is If I change that something I will have to change? In that case, how I can change 1 (i.e., full infiltration) and turning the design infiltration rate?HVAC schedule OFF robust enough to represent a window opening?

Also when the windows are assumed as open, the HVAC schedule also to be turned off right?

Can someone throw some light on this, Has anyone dealt a similar problem before?

Thanks in advance. Albert. Albert.
