Zone has no surfaces

I'm getting an error "Zone has no surfaces" when running the simulation. Which would seem like it has a simple solution of deleting the offending zone, since it has no spaces assigned to it. Unfortunately if I try this (either in OS or in SketchUP) the program crashes. I have gotten the simulation to run successfully by assigning spaces to the buggy zone, but this does me no good because another bug associated with this zone is that I cannot include in HVAC loops as normal. Any idea what could be causing these issues or thoughts on how to delete the zone?
