Defining boundaries on 3D sketchup models in open studio

I have a complex 3D model of a building. The 3D model is a sketchup file and I'm using the open studio sketchup plugin. I"m attempting to define the boundary conditions and nothing seems to be working. Is the a defined process for this? What's the best way to do this? How do I know I"ve completely defined the "exterior" boundary and if I haven't, how do I find the surfaces I've missed?

Thanks! david
