I'm a newbie in openStudio.

I'm trying to run a simulation of a very simple model and it fails always.

Can someone help me.

Thanks in advance

I don't have the eplusout.err file in /myosmname/run/#-EnergyPlus-0. I'm using openstudio 1.7.5 - 32 bits

I take the suggestion of David Goldwasser and got this:

Scan for Tools:

Then run again simulation:

and finnaly the tree:

I run the model in 3 different computers and got the same issues.

Look at the eplusout.err file in /my_osm_name/run/#-EnergyPlus-0 and search this site for the Severe Errors listed in there. Start with the first error first, since oftentimes subsequent errors are caused by the first error.

Also see this question for a good starting point.

In my case the simulation don't start, and I don't get the eplusout.err.

Try to export to an IDF file in the file menu, and let me know if that file is saved properly. I'm wondering if it is failing in forward translation from OSM to IDF. You could also look in the run/#-ModelToIdf-0 folder from your run to see if the IDF was made.

I try to export to an IDF file and it save properly. I'm using openstudio 1.7.5 - 32 bits, and I have some issues in the installation process. I copy the plugin file as describe here. Do you think that the problems are related to this.

Since you have both EnergyPlus versions 8.1. and 8.3. (32bit Windows) installed, I think this issue is already known and can be resolved :

Look at question OPENSTUDIO 1.8.0 UNABLE TO RUN ENERGYPLUS 8.3.
