I had to delete the openstudio program. I have re-downloaded the installer and installed. However, it going downloads a folder and not the actual program. Are there issues with re-installing? I have deleted all previous files related to openstudio on my mac.

Yes, you can uninstall/reinstall OpenStudio. Yet which OpenStudio (SDK? App? Euclid?). And which Mac architecture (arm64? x86?). If it's the App you're after, you can follow the steps here (remember to authorize the App).
