Modelling Passive Chilled Beams and Active Chilled Beams

Hi everyone, I'm trying to model two systems, a Passive Chilled Beam and an Active Chilled Beam in OpenStudio, however both systems are giving the same results in terms of energy consumption. The parameters I am changing between the two systems are the 'Cooled Beam Type' from 'Active' to 'Passive' and the coefficient of induction from 2 to 0. Are there any other other parameters I should be aware of?

I think ACB and PCB are normally compared not in terms of energy consumption but in terms of thermal comfort, installation area and installation cost.

If you compare energy consumption of active chilled beam (ACB) and passive chilled beam (PCB) with the same cooling capacity, it's reasonable that you have the same results.

ACB has larger cooling capacity per the coil area than PCB. If you want to compare ACB and PCB with the same coil area, you should hardsize Maximum Total Chilled Water Volumetric Flow Rate, Number of Beams and Beam Length. PCB would have larger unmethours than ACB if the hardsized capacity of PCB is insufficient to handle all the cooling loads.

Model Parameters in AirTerminal:SingleDuct:ConstantVolume:CooledBeam would affect to some extent, but it may not be easy to get the data from the manufacturer.
