Hello everyone.

I am new to OpenStudio and am currently in the process of setting up an HVAC system for a midrise multifamily apartment project. The most basic and common HVAC would be okay. However, I've encountered a multitude of choices, and I'm unsure about how to proceed.

Could anyone provide suggestions on which HVAC systems might be suitable for this type of project in OpenStudio? Additionally, I would greatly appreciate any related resources, guides, or tips that could help me make the correct HVAC system selection.

Thank you in advance for your assistance!

Depending on what you are modeling, you can select different systems. Typically, the available HVAC systems are to give you a good starting point which you would need to revise later depending on your system. A typical HVAC system for multifamily midrise is the RTU system. The demand side of this system will be connected to different thermal zones and the supply side could be a packaged system or it could be connected to a chiller plant and a boiler (all examples).
