Hi there, does anybody have an experience of modeling GAHP in EnergyPlus or BEopt?

A GAHP model was only recently added to EnergyPlus and is available as of EnergyPlus v23.1.

You can use the HeatPump:AirToWater:FuelFired:Heating (and Cooling) objects, and there is an example file called PlantLoopHeatPump_Fuel-Fired.idf.

This feature is not currently available in BEopt, though you could use BEopt to generate a residential IDF file and then manually modify it.

Adding on to what Scott said: You might want to check out this paper, where folks at the Gas Technology Institute modeled a GAHP using BEopt to create the baseline building energy models and then swapped in a GAHP. Note that this paper was written before the new object was added to EnergyPlus, so you don't have to do all the EMS workarounds mentioned in the paper, you can just use the new object in E+.
