You might want to check out this paper, where folks at the Gas Technology Institute modeled a GAHP using BEopt to create the baseline building energy models and then swapped in a GAHP. Note that this paper was written before the new object was added to EnergyPlus, so you don't have to do all the EMS workarounds mentioned in the paper, you can just use the new object in E+.
