I am tasked with a project where we need to automate BeOpt. I see that Modelkit is a great tool for automating the energy modeling process. Modelkit/Params claims that it can be used with any simulation engine that accepts text-based input files. I was wondering if there was a way to utilize this scripting method with BeOpt, or if anyone has automated BeOpt using a different method. I am new to the energy modeling automation process so please excuse my ignorance to the subject. Thanks!

@itsJohnHanson, Modelkit can certainly be used to generate BEopt project files. However, BEopt already automates much of the energy modeling process (e.g., parametric analysis and optimization). Maybe you have a need to generate and/or analyze several BEopt projects? It would help to better understand the workflow you would like to automate.

@itsJohnHanson, do you have goals to automate model calibration? or data entry or import? or assigning space layouts? or goal seeking? I'm certainly curious about opportunities to streamline a workflow. I agree with @neal-kruis that it's not clear what you're trying to solve.

There are some previous questions and answers about automation for previous BEopt versions too, so it might help to distinguish from or reference those.
