Does anyone have experience modeling phase change material in IES-VE? Comments on best workflow, procedures and results compared to real-world performance?

Thanks.

As far as I know, PCM cannot be modeled explicitly in IESVE. Supposedly you can approximate its behavior by following these guidelines:

http://www.iesve.com/content/mediaassets/pdf/FAQ%20-%20Phase%20Change%20Materials.pdf

I haven't tried this method myself, but I'd be reluctant to put too much faith into the results.

In my opinion, EnergyPlus is the best building simulation tool for modeling PCM.
