Hello,

I am trying to get the PAT Version 3.6.1 working on my machine. I have created a .osm file with open studio app v1.5.0 which uses ePlus 22.0. The model runs fine in OS with no errors.

When I set up the simulations in PAT using the model as a seed, and a simple measure from BCL that adds a local shade as a test, I set it up per the user guide and run it. The simulation fails before the model is run, and when I go into the ePlus .err file to see what went wrong this error came up:

Program Version,EnergyPlus, Version 22.2.0-aa78da9668, YMD=2023.06.06 08:46,
** Severe ** Line: 1015 Index: 0 - Object contains more field values than maximum number of IDD fields and is not extensible.
** Severe ** Line: 1015 Index: 0 - Error parsing "ZoneAirHeatBalanceAlgorithm". Error in following line.
** Severe ** ~~~ No, !- Do Space Heat Balance for Sizing
** Severe ** Line: 1015 Index: 4 - "No" is not a valid Object Type.
**** Warning ** Version: in IDF="23.1" not the same as expected="22.2"**
** Fatal ** Errors occurred on processing input file. Preceding condition(s) cause termination.
...Summary of Errors that led to program termination:
..... Reference severe error count=4
..... Last severe error=Line: 1015 Index: 4 - "No" is not a valid Object Type.
************* Warning: Node connection errors not checked - most system input has not been read (see previous warning).

So it seems to me like the main issue is that the eplus/idf version is 23.1, when the expected version is 22.2. But I am not sure how it can be 23.1 when the OS app that made the file uses v22.2, and the ePlus version that comes with PAT 3.6.0 is also v22.2 (according to the readme in the eplus folder in the PAT folders).

Does anyone have any idea what the issue is and how to fix it? Thanks, Wes

OS 3.6.0 Should use EnergyPlus 23.1 compatibility matrix.

PAT 3.6.1 is getting re-released since it had the wrong version of EnergyPlus in it.

Thanks for the reply!

I am using PAT 3.6.1 (typo in original post), not OS 3.6.0, To make the initial model I used the OS app v1.5.0, which uses OS 3.5.1 and eplus 22.2 according to release notes.

Opening the eplus readme.html located here:C:\ParametricAnalysisTool-3.6.1\pat\energyplus (near the bottom of the folder since there are two readme files in the folder, the first doesn't work) says that PAT 3.6.0 uses eplus 22.2.

So unless maybe something is updating the epus version in the background it should all be using the same version.

Thanks for your time!

try using PAT 3.5.1. its best to use the same version of all the tools.
