CBECC Title 24 Part Load Curves Appendix 5.7

asked 2 years ago

In the California Title 24 alternate calculation manual, several part-load efficiency criteria for fans, pumps, chillers, etc. all reference they are included in Appendix 5.7 though I am having trouble finding where this document lives in the compliance software, CBECC. I can install CBECC, and I can see the documents with Appendix (or App) in the name, and 5.7 is not one of them. This information use to be in an excel file, which I have from 2016, though it would be great to have an updated version.

Does anyone know if the part-load information is buried in one of the library text files of CBECC 2022?

Neil, Here is the path to the most current version associated with the 2022 release.

https://svn.code.sf.net/p/cbecc-com/c...

I can't think of much that has changed since 2016, and it does not contain curves for some of the newer E+ equipment, like A2WHPs. Also, this only summarizes curves used for the E+ sim engine, and currently does not include curves that are hard-coded or used in the CSE sim engine. Also, small (<65KBtu/hr) AC/HP cooling EIRfT performance curves are now curve maps based on input SEER/EER, as described in the NACM.

The spreadsheet is ultimately used to generate the text for the Library_PerformanceCurves-T24N.rule file, and the .rule file is what is used in the program, so ultimately the text file is the "final" reference.

Hope this helps, David

Neil, It looks like the curve data from the spreadsheets is included in the .rule text file at: CBECC 2022 Data/Documents/RulesetSource/T24N/Rules/Library/Library_PerformanceCurves-T24N.rule
