I downloaded OpenStudio 1.7.0 about a month ago and everything was working fine. I had to reinstall SketchUp and OpenStudio last week, and ever since then, whenever I open OpenStudio and click on 'Browse' to add the weather file on the very first screen, the entire window just...disappears. I don't get a 'Not Responding' message. Everything just goes away. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the program, but this hasn't fixed the problem. Perhaps installing an earlier version of OpenStudio will help, if I can find it?

Did you re-install OpenStudio 1.7.0 or a more recent 1.7.x iteration installer. Can you also let us know what operating system you are using and if you used the 32 vs. 64bit installers. Lastly, is this occurring with a specific model, or even when you just launch OpenStudio to work on an empty model.

I'm working with Windows 7 and have downloaded OpenStudio 1.7.0 (using the 64 bit installer).

And no, it's not just for a specific model; even if I open a new OpenStudio window and hit browse, everything closes. I didn't have this problem earlier, but I had to reinstall Windows due to a hard drive issue and now this happens. I don't know if its related.

I hate leaving this question unanswered because a bug like this is obviously pretty serious, but we haven't been able to reproduce this. You might try cleaning your registry of traces of OpenStudio. Take a look at this post but instead of cleaning out the registry for RV, remove the entire OpenStudio registry.
